Welcome to the laboratory of Dr. Andy Yeh, located in the Biomolecular Engineering Department at the University of California Santa Cruz. Using cutting-edge de novo protein design and chemical biology approaches, we design biological light (Lux) from scratch (Neo), engineer them to sense/control biological circuits, and build molecular probes to identify new diagnostics and therapeutics.

Join us?

We are actively looking for candidates at all levels who are self-motivated, open-minded, and passionate about science and medicine. Prior background/experience in protein engineering, medicinal chemistry, structural biology, cell biology, animal models, immunology, and gene editing, will be preferred.

Post-doctoral candidates should send a single email containing your CV, a short statement describing your research interests, as well as contact information for three references to Dr. Andy Yeh (hsyeh@ucsc.edu).

Lab technicians/assistants with an undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry, engineering, or a relevant topic should send your CV and a short statement describing your experiences/skills to Dr. Andy Yeh. Experience in either protein expression/purification or molecular cloning or assay development or cell cultures or handling mice is required.

Prospective graduate students should apply to our umbrella Graduate Program in Biomedical Science and Engineering (PBSE) and please indicate your interest in our lab. Graduate students from PBSE should contact Dr. Andy Yeh via email directly.

Undergraduate students from UCSC are welcome to join as undergraduate researchers. Please send your CV, transcript, and a brief statement of interest to Dr. Andy Yeh.
